Please tell us if your child is enrolled in camp only, or for the season.

Monday, July 24-Thursday, July 27, 2017, 6:00-8:00 p.m.

Practice begins with skills assessments. The first three days are conditioning practices and assessments with no pads. Thursday is assessments in full pads.

CYFA skills assessments are the week of Monday, July 24th through Thursday, July 27th, each night from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at your district’s specific location (details below). The first three nights of assessments are counted as the players’ three required conditioning practices that have to be fulfilled before they can put on pads. The fourth night of assessments, players’ skills will be assessed in pads.

Any football player who misses assessments will be considered a “hat pick” in the draft, meaning that player is ineligible to be drafted based on his skills and his name goes into a hat and coaches draw names from the hat to see which “hat pick” players will be on their team. When team practices begin on July 31st (or in Etowah’s case, August 1st), players who missed assessments will have to have three conditioning practices (helmets only) before they can put on pads.

Please note: It’s a state mandated law that all football players MUST complete three conditioning practices before putting on pads. CYFA complies with this law. Any player who does not attend the skills assessment week will automatically be a hat pick in the draft if there is more than one team for his/her grade and district AND will have to complete the week of Monday, July 31st practices in no pads. This means a player who didn’t attend assessment practices July 24th-27th wouldn’t be eligible to put on pads until practice on August 8th.

CYFA has a no pets rule! No pets are allowed at practices or games, regardless of whether your practices are at a pet friendly park. If you bring your pet to a CYFA practice, game or event, you will be asked to take it home. Please let friends and family know.

Coach and Team Parent Volunteers - If you have volunteered to coach football or cheer, or to be a team parent, please go online and complete your background check application, upload your receipt to your profile (2017Background Check Receipt) and pay your badge fee. Please note: Registering as a coach or team parent DOES NOT ensure that you will be selected as a coach.  Any fees that are paid in the registration process are NON-REFUNDABLE.  We do not collect the money for the Background Check and therefore cannot refund it.
