CYFA will host a 7-on-7 passing league open to all rising 4th and 5th grade players currently enrolled in the Cherokee County school district to further develop their skills in the passing game in a controlled, instructional and competitive environment. Fourth and Fifth grade players participating in CYFA’s 7-on-7 Passing League will practice to learn a series of routes and route combinations in preparation for a 7-on-7 passing-only tournament held on June 24th-26th, 2021 at J.J. Biello’s Riverside Athletic Complex in Woodstock, Georgia.
The focus of the 7-on-7 Passing Tournament is to help your son work on throwing, catching, route running, and pass defense skill development. No running plays allowed. Each player will play either a QB, TE, Receiver or RB position. Playing these positions during 7 on 7 tournament doesn't necessarily mean that is automatically what they will do during the regular season, but, if that is their goal, then this is a great place to start.
Games will be 30 minutes and teams participating in the tournament will most likely play 2-3 games during the tournament, depending on the number of teams in the tournament.
PRACTICE SCHEDULE: Practice in preparation for the 7-on-7 Tournament will begin June 7th through June 22nd. Practice times are from 6:00 pm-8:00 pm.
